Platon Karataev
Named after one of the characters of Lev Tolstoy, Platon Karataev is one of the most distinctive formations of the Hungarian alternative guitar music scene. Their music, starting from the roots of acoustic folk, has evolved into a spacious, atmospheric, post-rock sound where delicate melodies, building dynamics and a meditative mood meet. Their songs often unfold in slowly developing musical arcs that open both intimate and monumental spaces before the listener. Their lyrical world is deeply personal and philosophical: it revolves around self-discovery, the relationship between nature and humanity, and the questions of existence, expressed through poetic and symbolic imagery. The music of Platon Karataev is both melancholic and uplifting, a soundscape that invites introspection and deeper reflection.
